Inpatient hospice care is provided in an inpatient facility. When a patient needs short term management of pain and symptoms that cannot be controlled at home, the patient could be transferred to an inpatient facility. The patient can return home once the symptoms are controlled.
Inpatient facilities include long term care centers, nursing homes, assisted living facilities or hospitals. Hospice patients in these facilities are eligible for all hospice benefits. While at these facilities, Novel Hospice Care will still direct and coordinate the patient
